About
Hi, I’m KD.
If you love sarcasm, local brews, and working in male-dominated industries then you’re in the right place. Besides enjoying a cold one and exploring the outdoors with my family, my favorite thing is working with
women who are navigating a career in male-dominated industries!
These industries are everywhere and they are often full of broken systems. Education, tech, academia, welding, and many others. What we most often fail to realize is that we’re paying a price to carve out our careers in these spaces. The price is not the same for our male counterparts. My focus is on providing valuable insights that instantly bring to light your purpose for this season and the price you’re willing to pay.
As the parent of a trans son, two daughters, and a son, I’m passionate about opening the door to more possibilities for the next generation to access a life in any industry and across our nation without having to work 10x harder.
I got lucky with my start in tech. It took a great story to stand out in the interview, because let’s be honest, I was without a degree and didn’t have any tech experience. As the sole breadwinner, I was motivated to provide a life for my family that had been out of reach for my parents, so I moved up the ladder quickly. But I noticed a lot of women stepping off that same ladder. Why? “You did great work, sweetheart.” seems innocuous, but it’s often a minor symptom of a major problem that leaves women feeling like outsiders in their own companies.
For 15 years, I fought for my place in tech and managed to simultaneously fit in and not tolerate anyone overstepping boundaries. I credit it to growing up with three older brothers on a farm in rural Kansas. Not everyone has that kind of “training” for a boy’s club, nor should they have to.

My point in sharing this is to call out the systems that surround us everywhere, everyday.

My job is to partner with you as you are out there trying to pave your way within difficult industries. We work together to get clear on your goals, your purpose, your price and building your support network to keep going long past coaching.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
